Your writing can be part of Wine & Words | New Writings, a celebration of new writing by our friends at Theatre by the River!

Submit an excerpt of an unpublished work-in-progress – part of a short story, poem, song, scene from a play, prose – to be performed at Wine & Words. Wine & Words provides an opportunity to celebrate the authors and their unpublished creative works by showcasing them through the professional talents of local performance artists.

A panel of Theatre by the River members and guest jurists (including a Writers’ Collective representative) will review submissions. Selected pieces will be presented at Wine & Words 2014 as part of Spurfest, March 21-23. Writers of selected pieces will receive a complimentary ticket to the event. With the authors’ permission, selected pieces will be advanced to the Literary Review of Canada, as well as Prairie Fire and Contemporary Verse 2, to consider for publication.

How to submit: Include a cover page with the following information: name, email address, mailing address, title of submission, format (poem, song, etc), professional status (established or emerging), special instructions and a 50-word bio. Your submission of 300-500 words should omit any information identifying you as the author. A maximum of three submissions per author will be considered. Please send to: [email protected].
