At Least it’s Sunny, Right?!

Today Winnipeg is colder than Mars! Yesterday we were colder than the North Pole! That’s what I like to call, writing weather!!

Hello Collective,

So nice to be back here. I almost remember how to use this thing.

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Kate. I used to be on the WCM Board and write on this blog a couple years ago, and now, I am happy to be back with this amazing organization, this time as the Program Coordinator! I am also a writer, literacy facilitator, arts educator and merry gal about town here in Winnipeg.

We have a great year ahead. There is so much going on in Collective land, and on Winnipeg’s literary scene in general.

Library Out Loud events will continue the last Sunday of every month from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. in the Millennium Library’s TD New & Noted Room (251 Donald Street, Winnipeg)

Next LOL Sunday, January 26th

And, of course, Speaking Crow happens the first Tuesday of every month, 7 pm at the Winnipeg Free Press Café, 237 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg.

Next Crow, this coming Tuesday, January 7th, features the great Margaret Sweatman.

Other upcoming fun will include another Publisher’s Pitch session coming up in March (organized in association with the Association of Manitoba Book Publishers), and our AGM is scheduled for April.

And I’m just getting started!

But for now, just stay warm and start your winter writing engines. It’s going to be a great year.

In the middle of first reading of North End Lovesongs… Wow! Wow! Wow! Powerful and elegant. Falling in love with these poems.
