Need a book club to join?

Shaw TV & McNally Robinson Book Club Tuesday Sep 27 2011 7:00 pm – Grant Park in the Atrium, Winnipeg

Shaw TV & McNally Robinson Book Club

Want to talk books with other book lovers – but without the commitment of a regular book club? Shaw TV’s Joanne Kellyand McNally Robinson Booksellers have created a new kind of book club open to everyone in Winnipeg.

We will announce a new book at the beginning of each month on Shaw TV and through McNally Robinson’s The Booksellernewsletter. You simply read the book and show up at McNally’s the last Tuesday of the month to talk about the book. You can pick and choose the books you want to read – and the book clubs you want to attend.

In June conversation centred on Chang-Rae Lee’s The Surrendered and in July members discussed Kate Grenville’s The Secret River. The title for this month is Tom Franklin’s Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter.

Pick up the book at McNally Robinson, read it over the course of the month and join us this evening for refreshments and discussion! Get in touch with Joanne through e-mail at joanne.kelly (at) or with John at McNally Robinson at events (at) or by calling 453-0424, ex 227 if you have any questions.

I am a late blooming, self published writer who has a book out published by subsidy publisher ,FriesenPress. of Victoria BC. a book publishing company under the parent company, Friesens Printing of Altona. My fiction novel is titled , “The Lupine Effect”, features a man, his family, a werewolf, a vampire or two, love and adventure. I am still in the promotion phase as the book was just released to be ordered in July this year.
