Beach Day Question

Here’s a question for ya’ll.

When you go to the beach (or the pool, or park or where ever you go to relax and soak up some sunshine), do you bring a book to read and if so, what kind?

Romance Novel? Mystery? Sci-fi? Biography? Encyclopedia of Britannica?

Let me know!

I like to sink my teeth into a big, ripping yarn in the summer. Something relatively fast-paced, but thick enough that it will last for a few days, with a heavy dose of adventure, mystery and romance. Some memorable summer reads are Fingersmith by Sarah Waters and Jonathon Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke.

I actually got about 200 pages into Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell and had to stop. I don’t remember what exactly threw me off but I remember going “I can’t do this anymore!”
