Get Your ‘Muse’ On!
Check out this great course being offered by fellow writer Catherine Hunter!
The University of Winnipeg
Department of English
ENGL-3102 (1) Creative Writing Field Research:
The Museum as Muse
4 Friday afternoons in June (June 3, 10, 17 & 24) 2:30 – 5:15 p.m.
This summer, Catherine Hunter will work with students on creative writing
projects inspired by local museum exhibits. We will explore together the public
and private memories curated and stored in our museums and the many ways
we can respond imaginatively to the exhibits. Come and see how the images
and objects in a museum’s collection can inspire poems and stories and the
language with which to tell them.
Note: ENGL-3102 (1) is one credit hour only. It is graded on a pass/fail basis.
Students may take this course up to three times when the topic varies. One new
topic will be offered on Saturdays in September/October, and one new topic
will be added on Saturdays in January. Watch for more information about these
sections on the English department website: http://english.uwinnipeg.ca
